You have clicked on this health problem because it holds interest to you, a friend, or a family member. With this in mind, please pay close attention: this explanation will be the difference between eradicating your illness and just using medications to manage it.
The ideas I am about to present are simple, yet can be difficult to wrap your head around because of what you’ve been taught so far by society about health problems. I’m asking you to let go of everything that’s been driven into you so far about illness. I’m here to give you a solution more then just managing your health problem.
We perceive problems like allergies, headaches, back pain, digestive ulcers, etc. as if they are separate entities, not connected to our bodies. A person may say, “I have allergies. I will treat the allergies as a separate entity to the rest of my body.” The person will do this by combating the allergy with drugs and surgeries. The same goes for headaches, stomachaches, acid reflux—even emotional health problems, like Depression, is treated as if the chemical imbalance is an enemy to your brain. It’s the chemical imbalance that makes you depressed, you’re told. Your Depression is not connected to the parts that make up you in any way.
With this logic, of course you have to take drugs, constantly increasing the dosage, adding additional medications, and really never feeling well. You are fighting off an enemy. An invader that doesn’t belong in your body, that needs to be expelled by all means necessary.
Now here comes your “EUREKA” moment: these health problems are part of your body. You are only one physiology. The allergies are the symptom that deviated you from your normal perfect self. The allergies act as a barometer in your body to alert you to the larger problem, the disease.
Operating under the idea that you are one physiology and must be treated as a whole makes this an individualistic and Holistic practice.
An example of how each path to wellness maybe different: You have allergies. First off, not all people have the same allergies. Then, each person’s reactions to allergies are different. Some get hives, while others get itchy eyes. Some people find themselves sensitive to cold air. The individuality is endless. Along with the allergies, you may have back pain, or constipation. Each of those symptoms has their own set of ideas and feelings unique to each person. It hurts to have a bowel movement for one person, for example, while I have an urge but it is not successful for another.
In homeopathic medicine, the Doctor pays very close attention to your sensations and functions. What you feel, emotionally, or physically. Does the pain burn or stab you? Perhaps it feels like a vice. Function is the way you perform. It hurts to bend. My allergy is worse outside.
It is the change of sensations and functions in the whole person that makes the person feel better. Not just in one area, and certainly not when the area is being treated like an enemy that doesn’t belong to you.
Homeopathy uses the law of similar (link to article of law similar) to accomplish wellness, not management. The process of wellness is an eradication of the illness. During treatment you may relapse. But in the end, all your symptoms will be relieved of these problems permanently, and you will be able to go on to lead a happy, healthy, harmonious life.
